Example of Antisocial Media Marketing?

I brought this up on Facebook this morning, and it's still on my mind (one of those little things that just grate on my nerves), so I thought I'd throw it out here for some more discussion. Like many of us, I'm subscribed to all sorts of stuff - email newsletters, LinkedIn and Facebook notifications, blog feeds, etc. - stemming from a variety of professional and personal interests alike. My husband thinks Twitter is stupid.

He's only slightly more tolerant of Facebook. There, he acknowledges, there is a point to the whole thing: one can chat and keep up with friends and family members in far-flung places. And it saves us a lot on postage when we want to share photos from special occasions.

He won't use his own Facebook wall, though. It just sits there... collecting unanswered greetings, junky applications posts, and cyber-cobwebs. He doesn't seem to feel any particular distres… Continue

I'll never forget the speaker who, while at the lectern preparing notes for his presentation, answered a cell phone call and proceeded to have a personal conversation... at the microphone (which was on)... in front of the audience that was filing in... Suffice to say, we all learned a lot about his child's after-school activities that day.
