There are not a lot of them out there, at least not a lot of great ones, but I wanted to get everyone's opinions on online registration systems. Their best and worsts for a "top 5" list that I am creating.

What are your thoughts on the current registration solutions that are available, what are their pro's and con's and what can they do to make a better product for meeting and event planners!

Thanks,

Keith

The fact that I work for an online event solutions company (hint, hint) allows me to give everyone a list of criteria/questions you should consider when thinking about getting an online registration system for your company.

1. Understand what your event needs are. (For eg. how many paid events vs. free events do you hold in a year?)
a. Do you currently offer online registration? If not, how many people did you have to turn away (lost revenue) from your events?
b. What features would be necessary for the registration of your events? Phone registration, fax registration, acceptance of checks etc.
2. Identify who will be managing the system and what their skill sets are
3. Research your options. This sounds easy, but things to be aware of include: hidden fees, level of customer support and hours of support, does the company promote your event (yes, some companies help you promote your event!) as well as what tools and resources are provided to help you improve the quality of your event and increase event attendance?
4. What "other" products do these companies offer to help you deliver a better event experience to your attendees?

Once you consider these criteria, it will help you focus on the best solution for your organization!
If anyone has any questions about this or other topics concerning this, please feel free to contact me!
